We are pleased to announce a one-day-event with Luce Irigaray on Friday 07 June 2013 at the Institute of Advanced Study, Millburn House, University of Warwick Science Park.
Thanks to support from the French Embassy in London, the Institute of Advanced Study, the Centre for the Study of Women and Gender, and the Departments of English and History at the University of Warwick, the participation in this event is free of charge, but registration is essential. Please register as soon as possible, as the number of places is limited.
Provisional Programme:
11am-12: Introductory Workshop
A brief introduction to Luce Irigaray’s work by Katharina Karcher (no previous knowledge or preparation required)
2.30pm: Talk by Luce Irigaray
Luce Irigaray’s talk ‘Could feminine values help to save our world?’ will develop some of the ideas in her new book In the Beginning, She Was (published by Bloomsbury in 2013). After the talk, there will be an opportunity to buy the book, and to get it signed by Luce Irigaray.
5pm: Roundtable with Luce Irigaray
The day will conclude with a roundtable in which postgraduate students and academic staff who draw on Luce Irigaray’s work will share ideas and discuss their research.
